Chief Master Sergeant Matthew R. Muldowney is the Command Chief Master Sergeant for the 514th Air Mobility Wing located at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J. In this capacity, he advises the 514th Air Mobility Wing commander and senior staff on matters of health, welfare and morale, and the effective utilization of more than 2,100 enlisted personnel assigned to the wing.
Chief Muldowney entered the Air Force in August 1987 from his hometown of Fairfield, Conn. He graduated from the aircraft engine systems course at Chanute Air Force Base, Ill, in December 1987. He has extensive operational experience in aircraft maintenance on the C-5A/B, C-141B, and C-17 as well as multiple civilian airframes. Prior to joining the Air Force Reserve, he re-trained as a financial analyst to better-understand the budgetary aspects of wing
operations. During his assignment to the 47th Comptroller
Squadron in Laughlin AFB, Texas, he oversaw multi-million dollar budgets within the Maintenance, Operations, and
Support Groups, in addition to Wing Staff agencies. Chief Muldowney served overseas in support of Operations Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom, and Inherent Resolve.
