Do you want to try a new adventure, but don’t know where to start?

Maybe you want go parasailing, hot air ballooning, or skydiving, or rock climbing. Planning the logistics of such a trip alone could be overwhelming and cost prohibitive. Luckily, JBMDL regularly plans outdoor adventures for you, so you can try something new and meet like-minded people for a fraction of the cost.

The best part – once you decide your adventure, all you have to do is sign up. Outdoor Recreation, a part of Air Force Services, takes care of the rest. Everyone has the opportunity to enjoy an experience of a lifetime, maybe more. There is something for everyone.

Have you ever wanted to try rock-climbing? The best summer trip of the year, according to Lulani Lobdell, Program Manager, still has space available. May 27 and 28, over the Memorial Day Weekend, Outdoor Recreation is hosting a rock-climbing trip to the Shawagunk Ridge, also known as The Gunks, near New Paltz, N.Y. You get instruction at an indoor rock-climbing gym, plus a full-day pass to practice before you try it outdoors. Everything is included: campsite, camping/recreation equipment, technical climbing equipment, dinner, breakfast, transportation, trainers, not to mention the cool participants!

Lobdell says recreation is therapeutic and participants can create memories through hiking, camping and recreating by building stronger bonds. You can make a lot of friends, strengthen family bonds, meet cool people and save money, she says.

If you already have plans for the holiday, you could always go skydiving in June!
