514th Aerospace Medicine Squadron Chief Retires

A retirement ceremony was held for U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Allan Lu, chief, Aerospace Medicine, 514th Aerospace Medicine Squadron, 514th Air Mobility Wing, at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., Oct. 13, 2018. Lu enlisted in the Air Force in 1989 and served as an information management specialist with the 436th Organizational Maintenance Squadron at Dover Air Force Base, Del. In 1991, he joined the 514th Air Mobility Wing and subsequently served with the 49th Aerial Port Squadron (later, becoming the 35th Aerial Port Squadron), and the 514th Communications Flight. In 1995, Lu transferred to the 514th Aerospace Medicine Squadron and cross-trained to become an aerospace medicine technician. During his 29-year career, Lu deployed in support of Operation Southern Watch in 1998, 1999, and 2000. He served as the noncommissioned officer in charge of nursing services personnel in the humanitarian missions’ Operation Pacific Angel to Laoag City in the Philippines in 2010 and Operation Tropic Care to Kauai, Hawaii in 2012.
