Freedom Wing takes part in joint base KC-46 construction groundbreaking ceremony

Col. Thomas Pemberton, 514th Air Mobility Wing commander, along with other joint base leadership and New Jersey state representatives, took part in the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst KC46A Pegasus construction groundbreaking ceremony here Dec 3.

The ceremony represented the beginning of an $82.5 million two-bay hanger construction, which is a part of a larger $146.5 million project to house 24 new KC-46 Pegasus refueling jets. The KC-46, set to start arriving the summer of 2021, will replace the base's current KC-10 Extender aircraft.
