Two Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 88th Aerial Port Squadron, 514th Air Mobility Wing at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., who are deploying in the near future, happen to be brothers.

Tech. Sgt. David Misiura Jr., 88th APS air transportation specialist, posed for a photo next to his brother Staff Sgt. Josiah D. Misiura, also an 88th APS air transportation specialist.

The two brothers are among many “Port Dawgs” from the 88th APS who are gearing up to deploy.

“This is my fourth deployment and Jo’s first,” said Misiura. “Obviously this is our first deployment together so it’s exciting.”

The two brothers from Scranton, Penn., follow in the footsteps of their father who worked on aircraft electronics while serving as an active duty Airman, here.

In their civilian lives, Staff Sgt. Misiura serves as a police officer in Lancaster, Penn., and Tech. Sgt. Misiura, a retired corrections officer, now owns and operates his own business.
