The 2020 Air Force Photo Contest winners were recently announced on September 25th, where Kinsley Miller was named the winner of the youth 9-12 year old category.  Kinsley won a $500 prize.

The daughter of Master Sgt. Ryan Miller, a Reserve Citizen Airman with the 514th Maintenance Squadron, Kinsley also placed second in last year’s contest.

When the theme of this year’s photo contest was announced as, “We are Family,” Kinsley jumped to the occasion.  Kinsley said she used her father’s camera and adjusted the long exposure to capture the sparkler as it moved through the dark to create the word: family.

When Kinsley isn’t competing in photography contests, the fourth-grader from Springfield Elementary School said she enjoys writing and dreaming about becoming a teacher.

Kinsley is proud to be the daughter of a service member and recalls one of her best memories as being able to attend the “Princess and Her Hero” dance held on base.

Although she hasn’t decided how she will spend her award money, she knows she will compete again next year.

“Take your time shooting your photos,” said Kinsley.
