Marsha Robinson recites the oath of enlistment administered by Col. Thomas O. Pemberton, 514th Air Mobility Wing commander at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, N.J., December 8, 2018. The District Court for the Northern District of California issued a ruling on November 16th, 2018, which states that the Defense Department provided no rational justification for the policy change that required increased background checks and extended service requirements for lawful permanent residents before they could join the U.S. military. The services began slating recruits for training in the first week of December.
